In 1984, Dave and Merna Thatcher purchased the bowling alley made grocery store Slusher Wholesale and named it Dave's IGA. Dave's son-in-law, Dave (Jake) Jacobson, purchased the store from him in 1997 and eventually purchased the land and building which was still under lease with Slusher Wholesale. They added an addition to the store that included the frozen food aisle and loading dock. They also changed the name to Dave's Jubilee, since Jake's first name is really Dave. Shortly after all these changes the grocery company in Salt Lake city closed their branch of IGA so they switched to Associated Foods.
Over the past 27 years, Dave's Jubilee has seen business double. They are very proud of their great produce and wide selection for their size of store. They are a full service grocery store, deli/bakery, and gas station. Dave's Jubilee is one of the largest employers in their area and they are heavily involved in the community.
